How to post pictures
« on: December 06, 2013, 09:09:29 am »
If you would like to post a picture either to the Photo Album or to a post, the size of the picture can not exceed 1220 pixels wide. If your photo is too large there are two steps, first to resize the picture, then to post it.

To re-size your picture;

1) Open Windows Photo Gallery

2) Find the picture you would like to post and click the include box

3) At the top of the page go to Edit and choose Resize

Up loading your picture to lakesimcoemessageboard Photo Album

Once you have re-sized your picture to 1020 pixels wide or less you can upload it to the photo album.

4) Go to the photo album

5)Choose a category and click Up Load

6) Once the picture has uploaded it will ask if you would like to continue - Click continue and it will take you to the document page where you can name the picture and add a description.

7) After filling out the information (you don't have to) click on the thumbnail to enlarge the picture

8) Once the picture has enlarged RIGHT CLICK on your mouse and a window with options will pop up. Click on the Copy Image URL

9) Go back to the message board and start a new thread.

10 Paste the Image URL you just copied in the Photo Gallery into your post. It will look like this

https://www.lakesimcoemessageboard.com/album/albums/userpics/10002/jw6-6-2012.jpg

11) Highlight the code and click the Image Icon above the smiley's

Preview your post and your picture should show in your post.

Posting pictures from other web sites or FaceBook

Posting pictures you see from other web sites or Face Book is very simple.

1) Right click on the picture, an option menu will pop up. Choose the Copy Image URL

2) Go to or start a new post and paste the URL in the post.

3) Highlight the link you just pasted and click the Image Icon located above the smilies above your post.

That's it!

What part didn't work? Was it the re-sizing or actually posting it to the photo album? You can always post your picture to facebook or photobucket then just use the Copy URL Command.

John,

For me step 5 does not work - I can choose a category but "upload file" option is missing for me.
Only 4 options are available:
Home    Logout [Iceranger]     Album list    Search

Also,  I can not see a "code in the image above" (Verification) when sending a reply, because the image does not exist.
That is annoying to use "Listen to the Letters" option only.

Thanks

Did you log in to the board first? Once you choose a category like General you should see Up Load Image if you are logged in.

Yes, I logged in under my registered nickname and  I can choose a category but "upload file" option is missing for me.

Again, only 4 options are available for me:
Home    Logout [Iceranger]     Album list    Search

And please get back to me on why I can not see a "code in the image above" (Verification) when I am sending a reply to another member. No image & no code.
I resort to use "Listen to the Letters" option only.

Thanks

There has been a coupe of situations like that where members don't have the upload option. One was not logged in and the other was an old Apple computer. What operating system are you using?

You can upload anywhere and once you upload it, right click on the photo and "copy image url" then what you want to do is paste it into your started post, once you do that highlight what you just pasted and while its highlighted hit the image icon just above the smile face and your photo will be there. Just do a preview before you post to make sure you did it right.
