Tried a new lake in Muskoka today. I didn't get there until noon and she was extremely busy. Managed one small walleye but was pissed of at what I saw on the way back. A group of 9 to 12 people left this behind unmarked. I don't understand why they even needed a hole this big in tea colored water not suitable for sight fishing. I gathered whatever ice was around that they left from the hole and made a mound and poured my left over coffee on it so people could at least see it in the daytime. I may be back tomorrow and if so will bring something to mark it with.

I don't understand them big holes if your not in a permanent hut .

Easy way ruin a day if it skimmed over snow covered.

Haha. Hopefully Simcoe freezes soon. I don't get it either. There was definitely booze involved as you could hear one guy from a km away.

That's the type of behavior this season that will wreck it for everyone. They already kicked out the tobogganers from the hills in Toronto lol.

Wanted to hit a new lake today but the thought of someone hurting themselves in that hole drove me nuts so had to do something about it.

Ya, ice divers do have a right. They have the right to mark their ice holes properly, just as the law states they should. No one cares why the hole is there, it just needs to be marked when left unattended.

Comic strip aside... if you leave something like this, mark your GD hole! Imagine if it snows a skim, and someone steps into that... or a little kid does. F'n scary.
