My 2020 Muskie
« on: December 17, 2020, 07:25:41 pm »
I have only been targeting muskie On and Off now for 2 seasons, I have been learning and exploring hunting grounds with little success but know that Time on The Water will eventually reward me.  We put a few Muskie in the net, but not one from a cast YET.
I did start making some Muskie lures and leaders and I got one decent healthy fish while trolling both.
It was so rewarding to catch this fish on my own lure build and have my own leader build hold the fish with no issues.
I based this lure off of the Mattlock but altered a few things like making it 11" instead of 10" or 12" and I gave it a rounded head instead of a flat sided one like the Mattlock.
The funny thing is that as I was building it I noticed that it resembled the male anatomy so decided to keep it on the down low until now.  Lol.  It got its name because a friend said it was as big as MOBY DICK and because of what it looks like we name it. MOBIES DICK.
Here is a quick video of the fish it landed.   [ Invalid YouTube link ]
