Back Lake Walleye Fishing - Shining Tree
« on: October 10, 2020, 07:55:42 pm »
Evenin Folks
Took a buddy North this past week to hit the trails to hunt grouse and fish some back lakes for walleye in the Shining Tree area. We were not disappointed. Although the temps turned cold and it rained a fair bit, we didn't let it hold us back. We managed to fill our bellies with plenty of wild game and take home our legal limits.  Harvested a rabbit for the 1st time. Absolutely delicious. Took advantage of the slow cooker in the cabin. Was certainly nice to return at the end of each day to a hot meal. Great trip.

Did You stay at a resort or a private camp. Sounds like a great time despite the weather. :)

We sure did have a great time despite weather. Just need to ensure you bring the appropriate gear to cover all conditions for that time of year. We stay at a Cottage resort which provides all of the amenities required for comfort. Attached a link for your reference.

I was up there moose hunting a few weeks back no moose but saw lots of tracks in the 5 inches of fresh snow.  Fishing was great, we caught the white fish run in a river with 1000s around it wasn't difficult to get a limit daily.
