Even though we had 4 inches at the test site and on the way, I would be very careful if you plan on going out. It's a little spooky that its the only ice around. But it was good quality ice. I drilled a lot of holes looking for bad spots.

I only fished for 10 minutes because it felt so odd being out on Dec 5

This is a VERY early ice indeed.
I don’t think anybody thought we could have that ice thickness this early in December.

John, are you planning on going out again on the weekend? I’d like to plan to go on Cooch on Monday or Tuesday but i’d Have to take a day off, but if you think it’s not safe i’ll Avoid and wait until the new year.

No there was no one out there when I was there but there was someone out a few days before the thaw and rain.
