« Last post by MarekKTwarog on April 13, 2024, 05:57:28 pm »
Join me on an exciting pre-spawn perch fishing adventure on Lake Simcoe, where I take advantage of the unique opportunity to fish during a solar eclipse! As the eclipse creates a stunning celestial display overhead, I navigate the waters, casting my line in search of these prized gamefish. Watch as I share tips and techniques for targeting perch during this critical pre-spawn period.

That is a beauty pike.
I would think with the resurgence of herring in the lake, the pike should be feasting on high protein diets, and growing bigger.

Most of my pike are caught as incidentals while targeting other fish.  I may have to actually go out for them this spring.  Cold water pike also make fine table fare!

This weekend is supposed to be the start of better weather.
Our boat is already up at East Point Marine and we are looking for some early spring Pike fishing.
This one was caught last spring by my daughter.
My son-in-law also caught a large pike as we trolled across Cooks Bay from DeGrassi Point to Roches Point.

It was perfect for pike ... just a little chop and an Aglia #5 Mepps with a red and chartreuse rooster tail.
Yes there are some big ones in here still.
We let go of this one.
